IGNATIUS: This chapel is dedicated to St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit Order. To the left of this chapel is the headstone for James Murphy, son of the pioneer family that founded the City of Sunnyvale and one of the first students to attend Santa Clara College.
This excerpt described the construction of the student chapel in the 1880s. It states that the chapel was constructed just north of the Mission Cemetery. This construction, however, most definitely disturbed burial sites in the area. Despite knowledge of the burials in the region, construction was still carried out.

St. Francis Chapel Located in the Mission Church complex with an entrance near Nobili Hall, facing the wisteria arbor, this chapel contains part of the original adobe wall. It is used as a space for small group prayer and meditation.
