The Washoe County Sheriff's Office is providing tips so people don't fall victim to porch pirates this holiday season.
The Sheriff's Office encourages people to track packages and try to be home when they arrive or ask a trusted friend or neighbor to pick up the package. You can also have packages delivered to your workplace if possible.
Other ways to combat porch pirates include requiring a signature for package delivery, having your package delivered to a delivery locker and using security cameras that are visible from the street.
In a post to their X page, the Sheriff's Office also says you should report any suspicious activity to law enforcement.
