Thomas Farrell Obituary, Death – Tom was raised in a loving family alongside his siblings Jack Farrell, Marcella Sullivan, and Marian Bitterlin by his parents, John and Marcella Farrell. Tom’s brother Dan Farrell and second wife Mary Fran nee Madden survive him; his first wife Mary Jane nee Noonan passed away. At the age of 88, Thomas J. Farrell, a well-liked Darien, Illinois, resident, died quietly on January 24, 2024.
Tom was a pillar of his community, and his life was characterized by his love for his family and friends, his strong faith, and his commitment to service. Tom is a loving father who leaves a legacy for his four children, John (Colleen) Farrell, Kathy Farrell, Patty Moser, and Mary Kay (Robert) Tracy. The O’Connell children, Maureen (Michael) Howe, Mary Kate (Iggy) Blanco, Bridget (Scott) Farnan, and Patrick (Jahnvi) O’Connell, were also loved by Tom. As a beloved grandfather to Bridget (Jack) Piotrowski, Robert, Megan, Kevin, and Katie Tracy; Katelynn, Kristin, Michael, and Mallory Moser; Tom and Anne Farrell; Michael Howe;
Killian, Nora, and Grace Blanco; and Bridie Farnan, Tom’s influence is felt throughout generations. In addition to being a devoted uncle to numerous nieces and nephews, Tom Farrell was a family man who was always there to offer advice and a grin. His warmth and generosity spread throughout his entire family, forming a network of love and support that will last for many years. Tom was a well-known devout Christian who participated actively in his neighborhood church, where he found inspiration and comfort.
His selfless efforts to improve the lives of people around him demonstrated his dedication to serving others even outside the doors of the church. Tom’s selflessness, whether it was through community service or lending a helping hand to a neighbor in need, warmed the hearts of many.
