The Sparks Police Department, Sparks Fire, and REMSA responded to a fatal car crash involving a skateboarder on the 500 Block of Sparks Blvd. on October 13 at 10:28 P.M.
Officials on scene told us the person was skateboarding in a travel lane going the opposite direction of traffic.
First responders rushed him to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries but he was declared dead upon arrival.
The driver who hit the skateboarder stayed at the scene of the crash to help with the investigation.
The Sparks Police Major Accident Investigation Team is investigating. At this time it is unknown if speed or any impairment was a factor.
