New Mission Presidents - Church News

Seven new mission presidents and their wives have been called by the First Presidency. They will begin service about July 1.

Bradford James Brower, 53, and Tamara Ballard Brower, eight children, Canada Toronto West Mission; Elk Hollow Ward, North Salt Lake Utah Stake. Brother Brower is a stake president and former bishop and counselor, high priest group leader, high councilor and missionary in the Canada Toronto Mission. Owner, Stephen's Gourmet. Born in Riverside, Calif., to Leslie Myrl and June Marie May Brower.

Sister Brower serves as a ward Primary teacher and is a former stake Primary secretary, counselor in a ward Primary presidency, stake Young Women camp director, ward Relief Society teacher and ward activity committee chairman. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Melvin Russell Ballard Jr. and Barbara Bowen Ballard.

Brother Funk is an Area Seventy and is a former stake president, bishop, high councilor, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Southeast Asia Mission. Member, Sherman & Howard L.L.C.. Born in Logan, Utah, to Charles Dennis and Rebecca Jean Chambers Funk.

Sister Funk serves as a continuing education teacher and is a former ward Primary teacher, counselor in a stake Young Women presidency, stake missionary, ward Relief Society president and seminary teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Calvin Geary and Brigitta Emmy Maria Straumer Clyde.

Dale Homer Jensen, 59, and Marilyn Pihl Jensen, four children, Florida Tallahassee Mission; Deseret-Oasis Ward, Delta Utah West Stake. Brother Jensen is a gospel doctrine teacher and former stake president, bishop and counselor, stake Sunday School president, high councilor and ward Young Men president. Teacher in the Millard County School District and farmer. Born in Delta, Utah, to Homer Dewsnup and Alice Rae Roberts Jensen.

Sister Jensen is a ward Primary teacher and former counselor in stake and ward Young Women presidencies, ward Primary president and counselor, ward Young Women adviser and ward Relief Society teacher. Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Gilmer and Emaline Peterson Pihl.

Brother Langeland is a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and counselor, high councilor, ward Young Men president and missionary in the Scotland Edinburgh Mission. Sister Langeland is a former counselor in ward Primary and Relief Society presidencies, ward Primary pianist and ward Young Women adviser. Born in Gunnison, Utah, to Que Hyrum and Elma Hall Christensen.

Sister Prieto serves as a ward Young Women president and is a former stake Relief Society and Young Women president, ward Primary president and ward Young Women president. Born in Sorocaba, Brazil, to Angelino and Maria de Proenca Gurres.

Brother Roggia is a high councilor and temple ordinance worker and a former counselor in a stake presidency, bishop and missionary in the Washington Seattle Mission. U.S. Army Chaplain (Colonel). Sister Roggia serves as a stake seminary supervisor and temple ordinance worker and is a former ward Relief Society president, seminary teacher, stake family history center director and missionary in the Louisiana Baton Rouge Mission. Born in St. Ignatius, Mont., to Dean Davis Sampson and Della Margaret Barrett Sampson Cook.

Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, to Hugo Enrique Guindos Roman and Olga Lidia Ferrari Tato.
