Who Is Jet Li?

Li Lianjie, reasonably understood by his stage term Jet Li is a Chinese film actor, producer, martial artist, and former Wushu champion. He has Singaporean citizenship by naturalization.  Li beat his first nationwide title for the Beijing Wushu Team after spending three years training under the renowned Wushu master Wu Bin. He gave up competitive Wushu at the age of 19 and went on to become a highly regarded actor in China, making his screen debut in the movie Shaolin Temple (1982). He later appeared as a leading man in several critically acclaimed martial arts epic movies, most notably Zhang Yimou's Hero (2002) and Fist of Legend (1994).

Is Jet Li Still Alive?

 Jet Li is believed to be still alive, healthy and active. One of the most well-known actors and martial artists of his generation is Jet Li. In his fifty-time martial arts drama, deserving of the title "Emperor of Kung Fu," he has been the star of many action movies in front of the camera or in the background. Li, however, has not received as much attention lately. Since 2017, he has especially avoided Hollywood.

Jet Li, the famous Chinese film actor, film producer, martial artist, and retired Wushu champion, was born on 26 April 1963. As of 2022, his age would be 59 years old. His sports success brought him fame, which paved the way for a martial arts movie star career that started in mainland China and eventually moved to Hong Kong. When a publicity firm in the Philippines decided that Li's real name was too difficult to pronounce, Li chose to go by his screen name. This happened in 1982. They put Jet Li on the movie posters because they compared his career to an aeroplane, which also "takes off" quickly.

Jet Li is 170 cm (5'6") tall. He is three inches shorter than the typical American male at five feet six inches. Li has not regularly worked since 2013. He has battled spinal issues and hyperthyroidism since 2010. In particular, his hyperthyroidism results in weight loss and fatigue. And let's be honest, what about his nine-figure fortune and decades of professional success? The man can afford to take a break and concentrate on his health.

Jet Li Children

Li married Huang Qiuyan, a member of the Beijing Wushu Team and co-star in the film Kids from Shaolin, in 1987. They have two daughters, Si and Taimi, and were divorced in 1990. Li married Shanghai-born actress Nina Li Chi (also known as Li Zhi) in 1999. Jane (born 2000) and Jada (born 2002) are his daughters. He was in the Maldives when the 2004 Indian Ocean earthquake that caused the tsunami struck. He only sustained a minor foot injury due to a piece of floating furniture, even though it was widely reported that he had perished in the disaster.
