Bill Nye has continued to advocate for science and has become the CEO of Planetary Society. He has written two novels Undeniable Evolution and the Science of Creation (2014) and Unstoppable Harnessing Science to Change the World (2015). Bill Nye has appeared on other TV shows including Dancing with the Stars, The Big Bang Theory, and Inside Amy Schumer. He has also starred in a documentary about his life. In 2017, Bill Nye The Science Guy came out on Netflix.

Bill Nye is still alive. In 2017, Bill Nye revealed that his family suffered from ataxia. He had decided not to have children because his father and his siblings had all struggled with the disease. He was scared to pass it on even though he had dodged the bullet. He however does have one daughter from his ex-wife Blaire Tindall.

He was not successful in his applications.
