Kaiser Permanente will offer three no-cost “Parenting After Tragedy” classes to help parents understand and address the emotional and psychological needs of their keiki following the devastating Maui wildfires.
The classes will take place from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Oct. 5, 12 and 19 at the Royal Lahaina’s Hale Piilani Room. Registration is not required.
Participants will learn about typical emotional responses children may exhibit after a tragedy, responses based on age, what parents can do to support and guide their children, when to seek additional help, coping skills for children and additional resources for healing.
The classes are open to any parent in the Maui community. Children cannot attend.
